holidays

I have been on holidays for the last 2 weeks.

I was able to spend 4 nights in Canberra, the capital of Australia. I stayed in an Airbnb in Kingston, with great views over the water. I went to the zoo, where I was able to have meerkat experience. I was able to feed them which was great. There was even one which so friendly I was able to pat him. I even had donner with an old friend at a lovely Turkish place!

I also went to the last post ceremony. I was actually lucky enough to be able to lay a wreath in remembrance of Private Frederick Lewis Fortier and Private Alan David Fortier. They were born in Cronulla…. which is close to where I live. It was a very moving ceremony. I was lucky enough to meet the granddaughter of Frederick!

life update

The last couple of weeks have been busy.

Nala had follow up after her tooth extraction….. everything was fine and no problems at home.

I have also done another 7 days of work, and was really tired by the end of it. I did get 3 days off this week, and only had to work Thursday and Friday!

I had a facial on Monday. It was my birthday back in January and I got some money from my parents. They told me to not spend it on Nala! So I had a facial. It was so lovely and relaxing! It was for 1 hour and I loved it! Self care is really important, everyone needs to take time to rest, relax and recharge.

When I got back to work on Thursday there was a beautiful present waiting for me at my desk. One of my patients had bought me an orchid-a phaleonopsis orchid. It is beautiful.

So, as you can see, I named her Simon! Yes, I know Simon is not a girls name, but I like the name!

A friend at work is a great source of information with all things plants, so she has been giving me tips on orchid care. I also have been watching lots of YouTube videos. Simon is actually at my parents place as I don’t have the right amount of sunlight at my place….. I guess this means I will be going to my parents more often!

If you have any tips and trick for looking after orchids let me know!

I have also been planning my Canberra holiday in May. I am there for 4 nights. I have booked an Airbnb in Kingston. I have organised dinner with a friend, going to Canberra Zoo + a MEET A MOB OF MEERKATS! This did cost extra, but I love meerkats, and you only live once!

I am also planning to go to the War Memorial and the High Court. I am so excited to get away for a holiday! Nala is booked into the Cat Hotel.
